About Terra Sano™
About UsCultivating connections between people, plants, & place.
Terra Sano brings together horticulture, education, and research to explore how thoughtfully designed planted spaces can support connection, learning, restoration, and wellbeing.
Our work is rooted in therapeutic horticulture and sensory design, creating educational resources and environments that bring these principles into practice.
Terra Sano serves a wide range of spaces—from homes and communities to schools, healthcare and recovery environments, workplaces, and commercial settings—with an approach centered on the relationship between people, plants, and place.
Terra Sano exists to move horticulture beyond aesthetics. Through sensory design, therapeutic horticulture, education, and research-informed practices, we explore ways planted environments can become active spaces for learning, restoration, connection, and human wellbeing.
The goal is not simply to create beautiful landscapes, but to consider how a space is experienced, how people interact with plants, engage their senses, participate in the environment, and build meaningful connections with the natural world.
Plants should do more than beautify a space.
Meet The FounderAndrea Clark, M.Ed.
Founder · Horticulturist · Educator · Designer
Human wellbeing begins when we intentionally bridge the gap between people and the natural world. With more than 30 years of experience in horticulture, education, and landscape design, Andrea has built her career around understanding plants and the ways people interact with them.
With a B.S. in Horticulture Business and an M.Ed. in Agricultural Education, Andrea’s background combines academic training, peer-reviewed research, outdoor learning environments, and decades of hands-on experience. Through Terra Sano, she brings that foundation into therapeutic horticulture, sensory design, and education.
“Backed by over 30 years of connecting people with plants.”
The Heart of an Educator
Andrea believes a thoughtfully designed environment is only as meaningful as a person’s ability to engage with it. As an educator, her work extends beyond the landscape itself through workshops, professional training, curriculum, and practical resources that help people build meaningful relationships with the natural world.
Research & Workplace Wellbeing
Andrea’s peer-reviewed HortScience research examined the relationship between live plants, views of green spaces, employee job satisfaction, and quality of life.
Outdoor Education
Andrea directed the development and project management of the National Wildlife Federation Schoolyard Habitat Program across Houston ISD schools, helping create outdoor classrooms for Pre-K–6 students.
Terra Sano is deeply personal to me. Beyond my professional and academic background, my own journey in recovery shaped the way I understand our relationship with plants and the natural world.
When life felt fragmented or overwhelming, the rhythm of working with plants gave me a place to slow down and reconnect. Plants don’t demand perfection or ask us to rush. They teach patience, consistency, adaptation, and trust in the process of growth.
Through recovery, I came to recognize how closely those lessons mirrored my own experience of rebuilding. Terra Sano grew from a desire to share that sense of connection and restoration with others.
My Personal Foundation
Whether we are creating a clinical sensory garden, an inclusive community space, developing school curriculum, or guiding a professional team, our work remains rooted in one purpose: cultivating connections between soil and soul, science and serenity, the earth and ourselves.
Let’s take root, create spaces that restore, and grow together.
